Couple Facing Sexual-related Charges Makes Court Appearance

A Boone County couple entered not guilty pleas in circuit court last Friday on sexual-related charges involving a minor.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 71-year-old Wilbur Orlin Murphy Jr. is charged with felony counts of sexual assault in the second degree, sexual indecency with a child and computer child pornography. His wife, 63-year-old Karen Murphy is charged with a felony count of permitting the abuse of a minor.

The couple was arrested in early October following an investigation stemming from allegations from a female minor related to the couple.

Wilbur Murphy Jr.’s bond was set at $75,000, while Karen Murphy’s was set at $15,000.
