The What A Girl Wants event will occur from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Signature Bank on Feb. 10, according to the event's host Karleigh Williamson.
Williamson appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to talk about the event; she was joined by April Benefiel from Grandma’s House. It's a female businessowners' only Valentine's Day event; tickets for the event are available until Friday. A total of 21 business vendors will attend the event in one room. "That has never happened in Harrison where all of them are female-owned," Williamson said.
The host also said that, "it's everything a woman wants under one roof." Charcuterie, shopping, spas and more will be present. Men are welcome to come and shop for their wife or girlfriend.
She said the idea for it came after she hosted a charcuterie class in December at Marie's. During a conversation following the class, the idea for the women's event stuck out. She emphasized why she wanted to focus on female businessowners.
"When women empower women and support each other, it just, it speaks volumes," Williamson said. She spoke of Grandma's House in conjunction with supporting women; the organization is an advocacy center for children and women.
Tickets are $10 at the door unless purchased in advance for $5; a portion of the ticket sales will go to Grandma's House.
Benefiel talked about the services that Grandma's House offers. All of the services are free; the portion they will receive will help them fund those services. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Williamson and Benefiel is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
