Tournament Saturday: Goblins Claim Willard Title, CJ Outlasts Host for Forsyth Title

Tournament Week Wrap-up is highlighted by a big tournament win for the Harrison Goblins and a tough loss for the Forsyth Panthers.

Harrison at Willard Tournament
The Goblins complete a championship run at the Willard Basketball Classic with an 82-72 win over the host Tigers. The two teams battled with the Goblins leading by two at half before stretching the lead in the second half to secure the win. Goblin Ryder Scribner led all-scorers 27 points. Harrison is 6-1 and will host Branson Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Lady Goblins take fourth in the tournament, losing to Springfield Kickapoo 51-31 in the third place game.

Forsyth Tournament
In a hard fought championship, the Carl Junction Bulldogs build a big lead, then holds off a charge by the host Panthers, holding on to a 74-73 victory to claim their first every Forsyth Tournament Championship. Tournament Most Valuable Player Brody Pant scored 27 points for the Bulldogs, who just as they did in the semi-final win over Branson, took advantage of missed shots by the Panthers to build the lead to 14 in the first half. The Panthers surged back and got the lead back in the fourth with the two teams exchanging the lead. The Panthers had several opportunities in the last minute to pull the win out, but the Bulldogs held them off each time to secure the win.

In the third place game, the Branson Pirates rebounded from their Friday loss to roll by the Lebanon Yellow Jackets 72-52. The Pirates are 2-1 entering their game Tuesday at Harrison.

Branson Battle at the Boarder
The Lady Pirates win their final of the tournament, knocking off Waynesville 70-27.
