Barbara Jean Like Fleming...

Barbara Jean Like Fleming was born January 6, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Hardie Holt Like and Lois Marie (Jones) Like. There were four children born to this union; Barbara was the only girl, and she was preceded in death by her three brothers―Edward Franklin Like, Jessie Ray Like, and Vernon Dale Like. Barbara gained her wings on November 19, 2024.

She was married on June 20, 1958, and is survived by her husband, the Reverend Harold Dean Fleming of Hollister. The couple had two daughters: Deb Rambo and the late Joe Rambo of Hollister, Missouri, and Deanna Cox and her husband, Randy Cox of Kingwood, Texas.

In addition, Barbara is survived by grandchildren: Tanner Rambo and husband, Patrick of Kirbyville, Missouri, R. J. Cox of Appleton, Wisconsin, Brandon Cox of Wausau, Wisconsin, and Ellen “Annie” Cox Kaufman and husband, Tyler of Houston, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Melanie Cox of Wausau, Wisconsin. Also, Barbara was NANA to bonus grandchildren: Joseph Rambo and wife, Kaicie, Bryt Rambo, Nakyshia Leger and husband, Master Sergeant John Leger, USMC, Cheyenne Rambo, Graham Steinkamp, Kaylyn Rambo, Jake Rambo, Melody Leger, Ariya Leger, Sebastion Leger, Samson Leger, and Clint Rambo and wife, Dawn of New Iberia, Louisiana.

As a pastor’s wife, Barbara served alongside Harold from 1966 to 2000 in churches in Texas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. Her service to the Lord included teaching children’s Sunday School, vacation Bible school, singing in the choir, working in the nursery, and serving through the Woman’s Missionary Union; she was a counselor at many church camps and numerous mission trips. From 1975 to 1985, she assisted Harold with the Senior Adult program, known as The Keenagers. When Harold worked on various mission projects, including four extended trips to Africa, Barbara supported his efforts by handling matters on the home front.

Barbara was a caregiver to Harold through cancer and many surgeries and illnesses. On a lighter note, she was a cosmetologist, a seamstress, a quilter, a crafter, an artist, and a poet. Although she held many jobs throughout her lifetime, she most enjoyed her work at Holmes Stationers in McComb, Mississippi, and The Friendly Framer in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, where she demonstrated her crafting abilities.

For those that had the great fortune to meet Barbara, you know that she had enough love for everyone, and she will be dearly missed.
