Wanda J. Schodrowski

Wanda J. Schodrowski, age 83, of Hollister, MO.

Wanda J. Schodrowski, age 83, of Hollister, MO, passed away on April 16, 2025 at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center.  Born on November 2, 1941, in Arroll, MO, Wanda was one of eleven children born to Otis & Ollie Brooks.

Wanda moved to St. Louis as a teenager and met the love of her life, Charles Schodrowski. They were married on March 9, 1962. Wanda was a hardworking woman, caring both for her family and spending many years of service as a machinist in St. Louis. Wanda and Charles moved to Branson in 1986. In Branson, Wanda continued her career, working at the Lodge of the Ozarks.

Wanda will be remembered for her great love of the outdoors.  Fishing was one of her great pastimes, especially time spent casting a line on Lake Taneycomo or Bull Shoals.  She also enjoyed working on fishing docks while living in Branson both at the docks that were off Main Street, now home of the Branson Landing, and at Lilleys’ Landing. She was an amazing gardener and grew all varieties of beautiful flowers.  Any time she could spend on the lake, in her yard or in her garden were moments of relaxation, beauty and enjoyment.

Wanda will be deeply missed by her children, Rick Schodrowski (Laraine) of Cedar Hill, MO, Lesa Reed (Brian) of Kirbyville, Steve Schodrowski of Pea Ridge, AR, and Robert Schodrowski of Omaha, AR, along with her sister, Faye Brooks of Mountain View, MO. Her grandchildren, Amy, Crystal, Robin, Jake, Nikki, Jami, Creyton, Kevin, Corbin, and Trent, as well as her great-grandchildren, Josie, Carson, Joshua, Alexis, and Skylyn, will cherish the memories of a woman whose cuteness and lovable nature knew no bounds.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles Schodrowski; her son Johnny Brooks; grandchildren, Jonathan Brooks and Alex Schodrowski; and nine siblings, Beulah, Thelma, Venda, Verna, Ethel, Eddith, Betty, Verna and John.

Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Gross officiating.  Burial will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.

In Wanda’s honor, memorials may be made to Preferred Hospice, 5340 N. Towne Centre Dr., Ozark, MO 65721, who provided wonderful care to Wanda and her family.
