William Douglass Bowyer

William Douglass Bowyer...

With a lifetime of love, William Douglass Bowyer, son of Shirley and Harold Bowyer, 70 years old, passed away on January 4, 2025. Born December 23, 1954, in Fresno, California, but lived the majority of his life in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he met his beloved wife Dawn Bowyer and raised 4 beautiful children together then retired at age 67 and later moved to Missouri, where he spent his last three years. Doug was a family man; he and his father, brother, son, and nephews owned a successful masonry business for 50 years.

Doug was a loving, devoted husband to Dawn, who he admired more than anything; she was the light of his life. Married for 50 years and together for 53, Doug and Dawn had the kind of love most people dream about. He was also an amazing and devoted father and grandfather. His grandkids were something he was extremely proud of and bragged about them every moment he could. But one of the most important things Doug did in his life was teach his family about the goodness of God. Christianity was the root of his marriage, his work, his family and all aspects of Doug’s life.

Doug spent most of his years providing and protecting the people around him. He was known for giving the best hugs and talking to everyone he encountered (even if he didn’t even know them). He was the friendliest person, and his joyful soul lit up every room he walked into. His cheerful spirit will always remain with us.

Doug is survived by his wife, Dawn Bowyer; his four kids: David Bowyer, Heather and Oscar Hernandez, Jennifer Bowyer, and Morgan Rozich; his 10 grandchildren; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Shirley and Harold Bowyer.

Doug will be remembered for his love for the Lord and family, his delicious bread, his love for his chickens and land, and his sweet and tender heart. We all will hold on to and cherish all the great memories Doug has brought us. Keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
